Loving My Sewing Machine!

I must say, I never thought I would enjoy sewing as much as I do...it has opened up so many options and new creative ideas.  Of course with my new little baby on the way the only thing on my mind is baby!  That's okay though, I also have two cousins in the family who are also expecting their second babies.  One is due in July and one in August, congratulations ladies!

I am working on some new items, with a twist on them as well.  I made pacifier holder, bib, and silky the other day.  The silky and bib are not yet complete; I have some border stitching to do on the bib, and on the silky I have to add the satin border, and I am going to add tags as well so that baby can feel different textures.

I am also planning on making and selling coordinates when I become a bit more comfortable and get a good stash going.  Hope to start doing some craft shows this fall.

Countdown to Baby Boy # 2

Our countdown has begun!  We are less than 8 weeks from meeting this little octopus and I am starting to get anxious.  Brian and I finally went to a yoga class together on Sunday 1/9/2011, yes I want to document that date as it's likely to be the only time he will join me for class  :).

A friend of mine, Katy was our instructor and there were about seven other couples with us, oh, I guess I didn't mention this was a Partner Prenatal Workshop.  Brian was a good sport though, we learned some very nice partner postures and we went over lots of ways to help distract me from the pain of labor contractions once I am in active labor.  It may sound a bit strange, but I am actually PRAYING that labor pains will start on their own...I am literally praying for pain.  :)  Anyway, I was very proud of Brian and I really appreciate that although he did not want to be there he showed me a great deal of support, and like all the other hubbies that were in class with us, he bit the bullet and even stated that the stretching felt pretty goo

On another note, my crafting is picking up speed!  I have finished several burp rags, and will be working on a few bibs and a minky/cotton blankie tomorrow since the weather is supposed to be pretty terrible.  Weather man is forecasting a winter storm and possible 3-5 inches of snow.  Since Daniel also has a brand new snow suit you may catch outside making snow angels  :)

Here are some of my completed burpies and the start of some baby leg warmers for a friend...I have plenty of fabric left, so if anyone would like some burp rags send me a line and I'll let you know how much I sell the sets for.

Happy Day to all

Time Is Passing By

My, my how time does fly, especially with a 20 month old running through our home!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!  Now lets get going with 2011, more blogging and another bun in the oven...that's right, we are having another bouncy baby boy in just about 8 weeks!!!  I told you time has flown  :).

We are about 31 weeks and three days with another little angel from God, and what better way to enjoy him while still in uttero than to be practicing yoga and learning to sew.  I have been teaching yoga throughout my entire pregnancy and I try to take classes as frequently as I can.  If you have never taken a prenatal class and you are PG than by all means try it out...it is a wonderful way to start the bonding process and enjoy all of those little twists and turns you are feeling.  Prenatal yoga also offers many wonderful laboring positions and breathing techniques, even meditation to help you and baby with the birthing process.

So, for boy # 2 I  have decided to try my hand at sewing as well as my usual crocheting.  I have hand sewn a few items before but have never used a sewing machine.  I think for a first timer my little burpies are pretty impressive.  I am also going to work on trying to knit, which is very difficult when your used to only working with one hand as you do in crochet  :).  Here are some of my finished and unfinished projects to give a fresh start to a Happy New Year!
